This handmade butterfly menagerie necklace is a reminder of the ways we move through change and transformation. Butterflies symbolize growth, renewal, and the ability to navigate life’s cycles with resilience and adaptability. They carry the message that transformation can be powerful and full of possibility. Moving through different stages of life can also feel playful and alive.
I finish the butterflies with my purple-flash iridescent patina, which shifts from purple to blue depending on the light. I apply a metal sealer to the front of the medallion to protect the colors. The back will develop a natural patina over time, adding even more character to each piece.
The medallion measures 1 1/8″ round. The necklace features a Flat Oval Metal Chain in antique copper finish with a claw hook closure. It measures 16” long and is adjustable.
