Description
This design is inspired by Minnesota’s state flower, the Lady’s Slipper. I grew up in Minnesota, and it always felt like a special moment when I spotted one in the forest. They always seemed a little elusive to me. I created this necklace to reflect the distinctive shape of this woodland orchid and the way it grows tucked into the forests and wetlands of the North.
The Lady’s Slipper is a rare and protected wildflower, known for its distinctive bloom and the way it grows deep in northern forests. Often called the moccasin flower, it has long been recognized in Native traditions and is also a sign of a healthy woodland habitat.
This necklace is a nod to the wild places I remember from growing up in Minnesota. A piece for anyone who feels a connection to those northern woods and the flowers that grow there.
The medallion measures 1″ long x 0.5″ wide. The necklace features a Flat Oval Metal Chain, in antique copper finish, with a claw hook closure. The chain measures 16” long and is adjustable.
